Mount Meru is the second highest Mountain in Tanzania and fifth highest in Africa. It is a dormant strato-volcano located 70 kilometers west of Mount Kilimanjaro. At a height of 4,562.13 meters, it is visible from Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day.
Mount Meru is located in the northern part of Arusha, Tanzania.
Mount Meru is surrounded by the Arusha National Park and has fertile slopes with forests that support and hosts diverse wildlife like monkeys, elephants and buffaloes and almost 400 species of birds.
